 Nelly Mazloum “Oriental Dance Technique”

The Nelly Mazloum Oriental Dance Method opens a way for Technique to operate and yield optimum physical acknowledgement of earth gravity, spatial orientation, stillness versus mobility, weight-shift agility, correct body posture and rhythm awareness in all its versatilities concerning the traditional Egyptian style, as well as transforms the nervous system into a sensitively responsive instrument able to bind body, mind and heart into a single WHOLE.

Aesthetic and Elegance in Movement

The general topics of the seminars with Marianna R. Mazloum (Marhaba) include the following topic: explanation of body principles including body rules and posture, the vocabulary of steps, the meaning of gestures, and examining some parts of the history of Egyptian Culture.  

Participants are introduced to subjects concerning the structural dynamics and benefits of learning the Nelly Mazloum “Oriental Dance Technique”, a method structured upon a comprehensive understanding of body principles.  

They also learn the fundamental principles of classical traditional movements backed by a clear and accurate explanation, along with the technique for understanding body language and acquiring the feminine feeling in the pure traditional Egyptian Style.  

Seminars are addressed to beginners, advanced students, as well as professional dancers and teachers; all participants are led to discover ways to build up technique, expression and musicality.

The participants are introduced to the mystery and power of Pharaonic culture, which Master Teacher Nelly Mazloum has elaborated into a comprehensive system of essential movements having their roots in Archaic Pharaonic Dancing. Marianna Mazloum explains in detail the Pharaonic essential movements, which hold the roots and symbols of archaic dancing, by stressing the importance of correct body posture, stamina, strength and style in footwork and arm movement.  

Seminars aim at clarifying principles of movement challenging technical levels.

The program is designed for experienced actors, dancers, actors of physical theatre, circus performers, choreographers and directors - performing arts practitioners with professional stage experience working in various genres, techniques and styles - interested to find new international network opportunities and collaborators.

The programme includes intensive practical training with the Russian theatre director and teacher Sergei Ostrenko. The Lab is a great opportunity to approach a unique methodological and practical material that will enrich your professional skills and will offer you the possibility to share an intense creative experience at a global level. Moreover, the Lab represents a wonderful chance to start new collaboration projects in Russian repertory theatres.
