Silence

By Nelly Mazloum

It is the silence between sounds that create Rhythm. Silence is the neutral Center in which movements take a breath of repose.

The universe is based upon the laws of silence, which sustain activity, to create cycles between action and inaction, modifying manifestations of all kind.

The music of the spheres conduct creation. And we as microcosm, should learn to follow its rhythms, to comprehend how they influence our body and mind.

Dance is the music of our body
Sound is the rhythm of our feeling
Silence is the symphony of our soul

Ancient cultures knew these truths, and applied Dance, poetry and music, as mediums to capt silence between feelings and thoughts, for consciousness to function in tune with Nature.

We are born spiritual creatures, with a body to feel, and, a mind, to fathom the unknowable.

But in this age we have stopped listening with our body. We cannot even sink into silence to reach within. We are bombarded by sounds without meaning which fatigue our nervous system and block our capacity for repose.

We have stopped learning the sounds of Nature. We cannot bear to listen to the worries and pains of others. All we want is recreation, fun and easy pleasures.

Our caring has become selfish; our giving has become poor. Modern society has damaged truth with so many lies, that we can’t trust even ourselves any more.

A return to silence may help to fill our emptiness with a different rhythm of peace. It might stimulate the spirit to meet a new reality, explaining another dimension. We need not go in search of truth elsewhere than in our silence.

Silence is compact; its powerful message surges from our depths to sooth our misery, and heals our psychic wounds. Silence is one of the greatest human remedies. It stops our furious rushing, and keeps the mad chimpanzees in our mind quiet for a while. In silence we give ourselves a break, to call upon calmness to recycle our energies.

In Dance and Music, Silence swims to reach our soul

The goodness of sanity retrieves our balance to renew our belief in God, Love and hope. We grow stronger in the faith of our being, and lighter in the strength of our body.

But to become perfect in Silence, we have to relate our self to where words are hushed and motivations purified to be reshaped from within.

Desires and ambitions are brought back to their senses, and we finally know where we are heading.

In truthfulness we begin to rewind our inner clocks to bring our dreams in conjunction with actuality. We start being useful to others and ourselves. The shrieks in our mind cease, and the joy on our lips make kindness and honesty louder. Silence cleanses our senses and we are brought back to the central core of serenity. We become the conductors of our destiny, timing the daily symphony of our living.

Gradually, silence, modifies our interior rhythm and Dance rejoins our body, to fill our mind with beauty, poetry and gratitude for being alive.
